BY PLANE

The easiest and fastest way is to arrive through Venice’s Marco Polo Airport, from there, take the AliLaguna line from the Cruise Terminal (which can be reached through the first floor, then via lift or moving walkway back to the water level) with the Blue, or “B” Line (the trip is about 39-41 minutes).

This costs 15€ for a single trip. Owners of the Venezia Unica Card pay only 8€.

From Fondamente Nove by foot walk direction North-west. Turn left on the Salizada dei Spechieri, then walk straight (over two bridges) to the apartment. The streets and squares on the way are called Campo dei Gesuiti, leaving its church on the left; follow Salizada Seriman, then turn slightly left in Calle dello Spezier, turn right on Rio Terà Barba Frutariol, left again on Rio Terà Santi Apostoli and having reached the supermarket (on the right) and the restaurant Vecia Cavana, turn left again on the short Ramo Valmarana and right to reach the smaller Calle Valmarana. The door is number 4627, while the correct bell is named “Schaub / Paglia”. Third floor, with the lift.

BY TRAIN OR BUS

From Piazzale Roma or the train station on foot the trip is between 21 and 25 minutes, following a slightly curved path through Cannaregio. The direction doesn’t change but the street names do, so don’t be afraid: follow Calle Carmelitani, Rio Terà Lista di Spagna, Fondamenta Cannaregio, Rio Terà San Leonardo, Calle de l’Anconeta, Rio Terà de la Maddalena and finally Strada Nuova.

In Campo Santi Apostoli turn left onto Calle del Duca, Calle Verdi, right on Rio Terà dei Franceschi and right again on Rio Terà Santi Apostoli. From there to the house, which hosts the Vecia Cavana restaurant. The entrance to number 4627 is found on the other side of the building, which you can reach turning left in Ramo Valmarana then left on Calle Valmarana.

BY Water Taxi, WATERBUS, or VAPORETTO

If you are lazy and rich, order a fancy water taxi with Consortio Motoscafi for 122€ directed from the airport to Campo Santi Apostoli. It is a 15 minutes ride only. Book online or call here:

If you are only lazy but not rich, take the waterbus, the so called Vaporetto, from Piazzale Roma or the train station. From there, the boat takes about 17 minutes (Line 1) all the way to Ca’ d’Oro. From Ca’ d’Oro the trip is about two minutes by foot: right into Strada Nuova all the way to Campo Santi Apostoli, leaving the namesake church on the left, taking a left into a small and hidden square. Follow the road North to Ristorante Giorgione, then turn right again and straight over the next crossing, then finally left into Calle Valmarana.

Download App Chebateo? to navigate through all the waterbus stops.

Be advised: A single Vaporetto trip, lasting 75 minutes, costs 7,50€. Cheaper options are the daily and several-day tickets or, for young people (6-29 years) the Rolling Venice Card for 6 €, with which the daily tickets are cheaper (a 3-day ticket costs, for example, 28 € instead of 40 €).

For everyone above 29 years of age: A 24-hour ticket with the public transport system by ACTV (Azienda del Consorzio Trasporti Veneziano) costs 20€ (trips to the airport not included), a 2-day ticket 30€, a 3-day ticket 40€, a 7-day ticket 60€, which you can buy online on the Venezia Unica Website.

Those who travel to venice regularly (at least once per year) are recommended to obtain a VENEZIA UNICA Card, which can be bought at Piazzale Roma or at the Rialto waterbus station. The price is 100 €, but the card will be valid for 5 years, making it into an acceptable 20 €/year. With it, the normal price for a single-way ticket falls to 1,50 € from the original 7,50 €, which is the same price the Venetians pay.
