THIS newly renovated and comfortable apartment is located on the third floor of an over 500-year old former boathouse, at the heart of the sestiere of cannaregio, where the locals still thrive.

The apartment is located on the border between San Marco and Castello, just four minutes away from the Ca’ d’Oro Vaporetto and Gondola stations, seven from Rialto, 14 from St. Mark’s Square, its Basilica and the Doge’s Palace. In just over four minutes you can reach Fondamente Nove, and its direct connection, through the AlilLaguna (the Blue, or “B” Line) to the Marco Polo Airport (in about 39 minutes).

The building, which shows a different colour and character on every side, is located not far from Campo Santi Apostoli. The small Calle Valmarana is named after a small patrician family originally from the city of Vicenza. On the ground floor, preserving its original vaulting, one can find a famous fish restaurant named Vecia Cavana.

The apartment is endowed with its own spacious terrace lit by the morning sun. From here, the view spans through the churches, rooftops and terraces of the area, all the way to old palaces and a courtyard with palms. The apartment comprises of:

We are not to be found on Airbnb or another holiday platform. We only rent to friends and their acquaintances. Thus, we forego any and all feedback websites, too often ripe with picky and sterile comments. In the apartment you will find a guestbook, which guests are free to look through and fill in.
